Starting out a new phase of your life in a new place where you know no one can be scary. We know, because we’ve been there.
GEN Buddies was the brainchild of Founder and Group CEO, Dato’ Joseph Hii, who felt the need for being part of a supportive network whilst studying abroad in New Zealand himself. Thus, GEN Buddies was established as a network which would bring together students studying abroad in the past, present and future, wherever they may be in the world.
Every student who engages the services of GEN Education will automatically gain membership to the GEN Buddies network, as well as a network of peers for life. The list of Buddies is expanding by the year, and you’ll be able to not only connect with fellow students headed where you are, but also alumni who have been through what you’ll be going through, so you’ll have all the support you need.
Here’s what you’ll get for being a GEN Buddy:
- Exclusive access to the GEN Buddies site
The GEN Buddies site is where you’ll be able to connect and communicate with your fellow buddies, ask them all the questions you’ve ever wanted to know about studying abroad.
- Overseas staff support
GEN Education personnel visit students in the UK, Australia and New Zealand twice yearly and organise get-togethers for Buddies there, which is a great opportunity for Buddies to connect (or reconnect) with each other over some good food.
- Invitations to exclusive GEN Buddies events
GEN Buddies also enjoy invitations to event specially organised for Buddies, the main highlight being the annual GEN Buddies Rendezvous Dinner. The dinner gives current and past students, and their parents a chance to get acquainted, and gain insights from visiting university representatives as well.
